Art, Music & Creative Pursuits

La Bruguera was designed for an artist, now owned by a couple more, and continues to attract them. The Dalí castle museum in the village, the various quiet corners and follies in the forest garden, the abundance of light, and the stillness, have attracted pencil, watercolour and oil painting artists in recent years, as well as musicians, sculptors, sound artists, writers and dancers.

Regionally, there are a great many cultural attractions to keep the enquiring mind busy. Visit the “Dalí Triangle”, by taking in the main Dalí museum in Figueres, the Dalí House Museum in Port Lligat near Cadaqués, or walk into Púbol from La Bruguera to enjoy the Gala Dalí Castle Museum. There are non-surrealism specific art museums dotted around other towns of the region, from the Art museum in Girona, the ceramics museum in La Bisbal, the cork Museum in Palafrugell. There are many cutting-edge art centres, festivals and events, such as The Bolit Contemporary Art Centre in Girona, Espai Tonic in La Bisbal, the Muga Caula Festival, Girona’s annual Temps de Flors flower festival, the Girona Film Festival,
