class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>La Bruguera de P\u00fabol was built between 1979 and 1983 by Francesc d&#8217;Ass\u00eds Casademont \u2013 known in artistic circles as Casademont &#8220;Le Vieux&#8221; \u2013 as his family home, painting studio and art gallery. According to Maria \u00c0ngels Mercader i Camps, artist and Casademont\u2019s wife, the house was designed by the Igualada-based architect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arquitecturacatalana.cat\/es\/autores\/lluis-maria-albin-i-sole\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Llu\u00eds Albin i Sol\u00e0<\/a>, adopting modernist elements from Swiss architect Le Corbusier. A grid of concrete columns supports the roof and, curiously, these columns were placed with gaps between them and were gradually filled with walls and floors as the family\u2019s needs evolved. The house was expanded three times before we arrived.<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e06c32b e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"e06c32b\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-91a52c2 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"91a52c2\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-288ea77 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"288ea77\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">The world of Casademont \"Le Vieux\"<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ebfbc53 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ebfbc53\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Casademont\u2019s work, mainly landscape in genre, figurative in style and rendered in soft tones, often reflected the light, mist, and clouds so characteristic of the Empord\u00e0 region, and his paintings were exhibited all over the world. As well as painting, he also practised photography, and his photographic collection is now housed at the Museum of History of Girona.<\/p><br><p>Among his recognitions, Casademont was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi by the Government of Catalonia and the Gold Medal by the Town Council of Vichy.<\/p><p> As a curiosity, Casademont was a contemporary and close friend of Salvador Dal\u00ed. Like Dal\u00ed, he was born in Figueres and lived in Cadaqu\u00e9s. Dal\u00ed would visit him at La Bruguera, and in fact, his agent, the &#8220;Captain&#8221; Peter Moore, lived on the neighbouring estate, now known as the Castle of La Bruguera \u2013 currently a cultural project based on the solidarity economy. Later, Gala, Dal\u00ed\u2019s wife, acquired the castle in the centre of P\u00fabol.
