For the 2019-2020 cycling racing season, we are proud to announce our sponsorship of the newest UCI-level women’s cycling team. Massi-Tactic were founded in 2019, and are also Catalonia’s first women’s professional cycling team.

It has been a dream of ours at La Bruguera to use our passion and energy to improve the women’s side of our beautiful sport, and we have never kept quiet about our disappointment at the harsh inequalities between genders in cycling.

We’re really excited to join the likes of Catalan bike builders, Massi, and Girona’s fantastic sportswear clothing brand, Tactic, in supporting the women of UCI Women’s Pro-Continental Team Massi-Tactic, who hail from Spain, Andorra, France and Ireland. The rider roster includes 11-time Spanish champion Bélen López, 34, Catalan time-trial champion Noemí Ferré (27) and a host of up-and-coming young riders whose collective palmarès seems implausible given their youth. There is a great future in this team, and we are looking forward to going along for the ride!

La Bruguera de Púbol will be, as it is for so many of our cycling guests, home base for the team during their training season, from November to February each year. As cycling can be a lonely sport when there are no races, we will provide a base for the team to come together, and live, eat, train and evolve – developing their skills, tactics and team-spirit.

Beginning in November, we’ll host the pre-season bio-mechanical, physio and bike set-up sessions, followed by a training camp in December, the presentation of the new team kit, bikes and riders in January, followed by another training camp in February.
